I was very pleased and privileged to appear on Arthur Frommer’s WOR Radio show over the weekend. On the June 1 broadcast, I was interviewed by Arthur’s daughter and co-host, Pauline. We talked about my adventures on two recent cruises: my life-transforming “inter-species play date” last March with a momma and baby whale in Baja California Sur, Mexico (a journey with Lindblad Expeditions on the National Geographic Sea Bird), and spectacular sightseeing from Montenegro to Bosnia-Hercegovina on a voyage along the Croatian coast last fall (with Geographic Expeditions on the Callisto). You can listen to the interview here.

After taking your great travel writing class in the S.F. Ferry Building I was inspired to capture my travel adventures on paper, albeit sometimes on “cyber-paper.” I, too, had a transforming experience in Baja Sur, but over the hill, in the Sea of Cortez. While this story (http://sanddollaradventures.wordpress.com/2008/03/24/simon-says-you-can-call-me-ray/) is about rays, we also had an unforgettable mom-calf whale encounter. And then there was the mid-night, moonless-sky, sighting of dolphins illuminating solely by bioluminescence cruising just under the surface, along side of our sailboat.
Hopefully I will someday make your Corte Madera conference.
